Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to get my resume?

It takes time to grow something great. I am sensitive to your schedule and will work to meet your deadlines.  Our engagement may last several weeks, but delivery of the first draft of your resume will typically take less than a week. We will set expectations and discuss time frames during our initial consultation.

Do you have samples of resumes you've written?

Each resume is different, as each of my clients will have different career goals and backgrounds. I can share examples of my work, but they may not represent what your resume will look like.  You can take a look at my resume here.

Is it ethical to have someone writer your resume?

Absolutely. A resume is designed to get you an interview. It will not get you a job, that's up to you. Working with a professional to help best position you for a job search is a smart strategy. Throughout our lives we frequently look to experts to assist us with areas outside of our expertise. I'm your resume expert.

How can I pay for your services?

I accept all major credit cards via PayPal.

Do you guarantee that I'll get a job?

Your resume is one piece of your overall job search strategy. I will create a great resume. I will guide you on how to best use it. I will coach you for interview success.  Only you can execute in all these areas. You will achieve the ultimate job search success on your own.

I have more questions.  What's the best way to reach you?

Email is the best way to reach me.  Click here to send me a note!

I keep hearing about Application Tracking Systems (ATS). What is an ATS and do I need to worry about them?

Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) are used by most companies to manage their candidate data. One key function of an ATS is the ability to scan resumes for key words and terms and rank your resume against your competition.  Depending on the HR professional's settings the system will deliver only those resumes that meet established criteria. I will implement the most prudent strategies in your resume to perform successfully in an ATS.

Your fee seems expensive. Why should I work with you and not a writer who charges less?

Great question! There are definitely less expensive services and professionals. Weigh carefully, the pros and cons of each one. If you're comfortable with a no-frills approach and minimal interaction with your resume professional, it may be best to continue your research. When you work with me, we will spend significantly more time together than your typical resume writer. Many find my coaching and guidance to be of tremendous value in addition to the quality of my writing.  As with many goods and services, each price point brings with it certain benefits.  Consider working with me to be one of those luxuries.

Will you help me get a job?

I will help you navigate your job search and share with you what I've learned over the years. I do not provide recruitment services or match clients with jobs.
